Miguel Mejía Barón

Miguel Mejía Barón ( born April 17, 1949) is a former Mexican football coach, who was in charge between 1988 and 2001 several Mexican clubs and between 1993 and 1995, the Mexican national team.

Biography

Association

Mejía began his coaching job in 1988 in the service of the Club Universidad Nacional, with whom he won the 1991 championship. He then worked for the CF Monterrey and ended the collaboration beginning in 1993, when the post of national coach he was entrusted with. After two and a half years and 54 games in the use of the national team he took over prior to the start of the 1996/97 season the CF Atlante and came across the Tigres and Puebla in early 2001 returned to his first club, the UNAM Pumas. His debut as head coach of the Mexican national team gave Mejía on 20 January 1993 in a friendly in Italy, which was lost 0-2.
