Miguel RÃos
Miguel Ríos ( born June 7, 1944 in Granada, Spain ) is a Spanish musician and rock singer.
His worldwide hit A Song of Joy, published in 1969 and brought him in June 1970 at number 1 on the German, Austrian and Swiss singles chart as well as top places in Spain, the U.S. and the UK and has sold seven million times. The title is a designed with elements of pop music version of the fourth movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It was arranged and produced by Waldo de los Ríos.
In 1970 he was awarded the Golden Lion at Radio Luxembourg for A Song of Joy. He sang the title in 1971 at the German hit movie The skin of the strongest twin around. Also in 1971 he took the title with sunshine and rainbows at the Grand Prix RTL International the first place.
