Mihail Jora ( born August 14, 1891 in Roman, † May 10, 1971 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian composer.

Jora studied in Leipzig with Max Reger and Robert Teichmüller. From 1929 to 1962 he was a professor at the Conservatory of Bucharest, next he worked from 1928 to 1933 as head of broadcasting in Bucharest. In 1944, he became vice president of the Society of Romanian composers, but soon came under the charge of formalism in the criticism of governance. In 1953 he was rehabilitated and resumed in the Composers' Union.

He composed four ballets, a symphony, two orchestral suites ( including landscapes Moldovan, 1924), chamber music, piano works, choral music and songs.

The Romanian Orchestra Filarmonica Mihail Jora din Bacau is named after him, further the Studioul de concerte " Mihail Jora " (better known as Sala Radio ), the Concert Hall of the Radio Orchestra Naţională in Bucharest.
