Mika Hannula

Mika Hannula Stefan ( born April 2, 1979 in Huddinge ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who stands in January 2014 at the Cologne Sharks of the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Mika Hannula began his career as a hockey player in the young field of Swedish clubs AIK and Djurgårdens IF and the Finnish first division Lukko Rauma, for which he was active from 1996 to 1998. Then the attacker played a year for Lidingö HC in the Swedish Division 1, before the 1999/2000 season for Hammarby IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second Swedish league, ran aground. In the summer of 2000, the right-handed shooter received a contract with the Malmö Redhawks, for which he was initially until the end of the 2002/03 season on the ice. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round in 2002 when a total of 269 players from the Minnesota Wild, for which he, however, never played. Instead, the Swede was during the 2003/ 04 season in 67 games for Minnesota's farm team in the American Hockey League, the Houston Aeros, on the ice.

After a year Hannula North America left again and returned to the Malmö Redhawks back, for which he played another year in the Elitserien. From 2005 to 2007 was a winger in their league rivals HV 71 Jönköping under contract before joining during the season 2006/ 07 to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League. After the season, the Swede joined their league rivals SKA St. Petersburg, for which he in a total of 55 games 15 scorer points, including eight goals scored. In summer 2008, Hannula was committed from the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League, for whom he played until the spring of 2009 of HK CSKA Moscow. He then worked without a club before he was hired in December 2009 by his former club Djurgårdens IF.

After a few games for Djurgården he left this club in January 2010 and was committed by Salavat Yulaev Ufa. In May of the same year he moved within the Kontinental Hockey League to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, for which he, however, completed only a game. End of October 2010, he was released and got only in January 2011 signed a contract with Djurgårdens IF, where he remained until the end of the season. For the 2011/12 season he moved within the Elitserien to MODO Hockey.

Internationally

For Sweden Hannula participated in the World Championships in 2003 and 2006, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin in part.
