Mike Connolly ( born July 3, 1989 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 2013 at the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga

Career

Mike Connolly played between 2006 and 2008 for the Camrose Kodiaks in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The player was eligible for the NHL Entry Draft 2007 selection, but was selected by any franchise in the National Hockey League ( NHL). From 2008, the offensive athlete spent three years at the University of Minnesota Duluth and was at this time for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs hockey team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association ( WCHA ) active.

With the Bulldogs, he won in the 2008 /09 season, the WCHA Championship after the team won the final game against the Denver Pioneers 4-0. Mark Connolly scored 42 points scorer this season in 43 completed games and was elected to the WCHA All- Rookie Team. A few days after the NCAA success under Mike Connolly wrote on 15 April 2011 an entry contract with the San Jose Sharks. Then the Canadians was sent to San Jose's farm team Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League, where he was a regular player at the start of the AHL season 2011/12.

Shortly before the transfer window closed in February 2012 Connolly was transferred along with Jamie McGinn and Michael Sgarbossa of the San Jose Sharks to Colorado Avalanche. San Jose received in return the players Daniel Winnik, TJ Galiardi and a seventh -round option for the NHL Entry Draft in 2013. Subsequently, Connolly played two games for Colorado Farm Team Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League before moving to the cadre of Avalanche was appointed and 4 March 2012 played his first game in the National Hockey League. After another NHL - use, he was sent back to the Monsters, where he spent the rest of the season.
