Mike Doughty

Mike Doughty ( born June 10, 1970 in Fort Knox, Kentucky as Michael Doughty ) is an American singer and songwriter. His most famous songs are "Looking at the World from the Bottom of a Well" and "I Hear the Bells", in the well-known television programs (including Grey's Anatomy and Veronica Mars) were used.

Biography

Doughty grew up in a military family. Because of this, he traveled a lot in his childhood by the U.S. and Europe. He spent his youth at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Later he attended the " Bard College at Simon's Rock" in the small town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, but to pull the connection to New York to study at the " New School " seal.

Music career

While he worked in the New York club Knitting Factory in the early 1990s, he met the musicians with whom he founded the experimental band Soul Coughing in 1992. In 2000, after bandinternem dispute and a heroin addiction Doughtys, the band broke up. However, he managed to overcome his heroin addiction. A short time later, he began his recorded in 1996 ( just one day ) acoustic album Skittish to tour North America. He appeared as a solo artist and also took care of itself for the sale of the CDs after the concert. Two more albums - Smofe Smang and Rockity Roll - published in 2002 and 2003 on their own. First published in 2005, the LP Haughty Melodic was recorded by Dan Wilson, the singer and guitarist of the band Semisonic over a period of two years and produced. The album was released then on Dave Matthews ' label' ATO Records ", where the follow-up album Golden Delicious was released in February 2008. With the song Looking at the World from the Bottom of a Well, for a music video was shot, Doughty has appeared at the Late Show with David Letterman.
