Mike Fenner

Mike Fenner ( born April 24, 1971 in Berlin, East Germany ) is a former German track and field athlete.

Career

Mike Fenner can look back on a long career in the 110- meter hurdles. Internationally, he was, however, mostly in the shadow of Americans, Cubans and British. In Germany he had two permanent rivals with Florian Schwarthoff and Falk Balzer.

His breakthrough came Fenner 1990, when he was second in the last GDR championships. At the German Championships after the reunion he could 1994, 1997 and 1998 also finish second. 2001 and 2004 he became German champion. In the hall about 60 meters hurdles he won between 1990 and 2006 a total of ten medals, which he 1994, 1997, 2002 and 2003 won the German championship title.

He also won in 1994 and 1998 respectively in 7.58 s the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships over 60 meters hurdles.

His only part in the Olympics succeeded Fenner in 2004, but as at the World Championships in 1997 and 2001, he resigned in the intermediate run from.

As a personal best of 13.17 s Mike Fenner are usually given from the year 1998. On 4 June 1995 he succeeded Scheessel a race of 13.06 s, which would have been German record.
