Mike Fitzpatrick

Michael G. "Mike" Fitzpatrick ( born June 28, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American politician. Between 2005 and 2007 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he heard again since January 2011.

Career

Mike Fitzpatrick attended Bishop Egan High School in Fairless Hills and then studied until 1975 at St. Thomas University in Florida. After a subsequent law degree from the Dickinson School of Law and his 1988 was admitted as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1995 and 2004 he was a member of the District Council in Bucks County.

In the congressional elections of 2004, Fitzpatrick was in the eighth electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of James C. Greenwood on 3 January 2005. As he defeated Democrat Patrick Murphy in 2006, he was initially able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 2007. At that time he was a member of the Finance Committee and the Committee on Small Business.

After the end of his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives Fitzpatrick practiced as a lawyer again. In the 2010 elections, he was elected again in the eighth district of his state in Congress, where he replaced Murphy again on January 3, 2011. This mandate he holds to this day. Here he is again a member of the Finance Committee and in two of its subcommittees. In 2012, he was confirmed with 57% against 43% of the vote against Kathy Boockvar in his mandate.

Mike Fitzpatrick is married and the father of six children.
