Mike Horn

Mike Horn (* July 16, 1966 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a South African extreme sports.

Life and achievements

He swam the first of the Amazon source to the estuary ( 1997), which orbited Earth at the equator without motor aids ( 1999) and was single-handedly the Arctic Circle ( Arktos Expedition, August 2002-November 2004 ). From January to March 2006, ie in the north polar night, he brought along with Borge Ousland by an expedition to the North Pole.

Mike Horn fought from 1984 to 1986 in a South African unit in Angola and since 1990 has made Switzerland. He now lives in Château d'Oex. There, a four- kilometer-long adventure course was set up, which includes Mike Horn Family Trail, a treasure hunt and an exhibition on the horn expeditions.

Since 2008, Mike Horn is a young team on the sailing yacht Pangaea, the largest with 35 meters in length, sailing expedition yacht traveling the world. The yacht was built in 2007/2008 in order to draw attention to a four-year global expedition to the environmental problems of the earth.
