Mike McKee

Mike McKee ( born June 18, 1969 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the Quebec Nordiques in the National Hockey League

Career

McKee played for four years from 1988 to 1992 as a defender at the prestigious Princeton University. After him, had managed the leap into the Second All-Star Team of the Eastern College Athletic Conference, a league of the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the end of the 1989/90 season, he was selected to the first overall position of the Quebec Nordiques in the NHL Supplemental Draft 1990. However, the Canadians stayed initially for two more years in college and finished his studies.

At the beginning of the 1992/93 season McKee became a professional and played for the Greensboro Monarchs in the East Coast Hockey League and the Halifax Citadel in the American Hockey League, who had offered him a contract. His strong play made ​​the Scouts of the Nordiques back to his attention, and so they took him to the season 1993/94 back into the organization back. He ran in the season for both the Cornwall Aces in the AHL as well as for the Nordiques in the National Hockey League. For Quebec, he played a total of 48 games in which he scored three goals and twelve prepared. After another 36 games in the 1994/95 season with the Cornwall Aces, he finished his career.
