Mike Penberthy

Mike Penberthy ( born November 29, 1974 in Los Gatos, California ) is a former American professional basketball player who has successfully played in the NBA and in the German Basketball Bundesliga and the Italian Lega Basket Serie A.

Penberthy completed his studies at the Baptist The Master 's College in Santa Clarita in his native U.S. state, which is organized in the NAIA. He is considered the best basketball player that this college has ever produced, and holds the records in most points scored, successful three-point throws and accuracy on free throws, which is why he was appointed a member of the Athletes Hall of Fame of the College. He is married to Wendy, nee Jones, who has successfully played volleyball for this college.

After a season in the German 2nd Bundesliga basketball at the Tigers from Hamburg, he initially returned to his homeland to play in the CBA. In 1999 he returned, however, to BBL- Up BCJ Tigers back to Hamburg. In the 2000 /01 season he made about the NBA Summer League the jump in the squad of the Los Angeles Lakers. His debut was not very spectacular: once Penberthy was not allowed by the police to the Lakers training hall, because the officers simply did not believe that he was a Lakers player. Penberthy came into this season not used, but was without play NBA champion. In his second season, he still came to three inserts. In January 2002, he returned to Europe and went to the basket from Naples to Serie A. After two more seasons with Pompea Napoli he returned to the BBL and played in the Basketball Bundesliga season 2005/ 06 for Alba Berlin, with whom he was German cup winner. After one season, he returned to Italy, first played in Reggio Emilia and then in Udine, before 2008 ended his career.
