Mike Rogers (Michigan politician)
Michael J. "Mike" Rogers ( born June 2, 1963 at Livingston County, Michigan) is an American politician. Since 2001 he represents the state of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Career
Mike Rogers attended until 1985, Adrian College in Michigan between 1985 and 1989 and was a soldier in the U.S. Army. From 1989 to 1994 he worked in Chicago for the FBI. There he was employed in the fight against corruption and organized crime. Politically, Rogers joined the Republican Party. From 1995 to 2000 he sat in the Senate from Michigan. There he directed since 1999 the Republican faction.
In the congressional elections of 2000, Rogers was the eighth constituency of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Debbie Stabenow on 3 January 2001. After five previous elections he can exercise his mandate in Congress today. Since he was confirmed in the congressional elections of 2010, with 64 % of the vote, he could take another two -year term on January 3, 2011. In the congressional elections in November 2012, he was re-elected with 58.6 %.
Rogers is a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in constant Intelligence Committee and in some sub-committees. From him comes the bill Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act ( CISPA ), which is regarded as the successor of the Stop Online Piracy Act, and the end of April 2012 was adopted by the House of Representatives.
