Mike Sserumaga

Michael " Mike" Sserumagga ( born August 3, 1989 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan football players in the position of striker. He stands at Rayon Sport in Rwanda under contract.

Career

Youth and club career

Born in the capital of Uganda Sserumagga began his active career as a football player at Police FC in Jinja, Uganda to the southeast. He was until 2007 active in youth and played from 2006 already for adult team in the top division of the country. In the summer of 2007 Sserumagga was brought to the Swedish club Helsingborgs IF to Europe, where he was active mainly in the young field of Helsingborg after his arrival.

His team debut in professional team of HIF he gave on 11 September 2007 in a 7-0 friendly win over the fourth-rate Högaborgs BK, when he entered the game for the double goal scorers Fredrik Olsson in the 60th minute. In the same batch Sserumagga achieved even after 78 minutes, the hit to 6:0. After he had from 2008 been in the senior squad and trained with the first team, he was injured during a training session at the club Ugandan KB Lions. Due to the severe ankle injury he incurred while he paused just under a year and so had no chance to get a professional league use in HIF.

In January 2009 Sserumaggas returned to Uganda, where he signed a one-year contract with first division club Uganda Revenue Authority SC in September 2009. In 2010 he signed a contract with Bunamwaya SC, but left the club in January 2011 again to switch to Rayon Sports to Rwanda.

Internationally

Since 2008 he is in the squad of A-National team of his home country, for in seven games, he scored one goal so far. His team debut was here on June 8, 2008, a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup Group 3 against Benin. During the game Sserumagga was about the entire game in action. In the total of six games in the group stage of the striker was in five games for the most part over the entire match times in use, managed with the team at the end only the third place in the table and did not come due to goal difference past Angola, as runners-up in the " ranking of Second group " arrived.

In addition to the five appearances in the World Cup qualifiers, the native Kampalae graduated in 2008 yet another international match. He was also part of the Ugandan National Team at the CECAFA Cup 2009, where he in the encounter between Tanzania and Uganda in the 88th minute to a 2-1 final score contributed in his only match of the competition while on November 29, 2009. He was appointed to the expanded tournament squad in early November by the Ugandan team boss Bobby Williamson along with six other team members of his tribe club Uganda Revenue Authority SC.

In the final of the competition, the national team set 2-0 against the national team of Rwanda and won the title for the eleventh time.
