Mike Ward (American politician)

Michael Delavan "Mike" Ward ( born January 7, 1951 in White Plains, New York) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 1997 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After the Atherton High School Mike Ward studied until 1974 at the University of Louisville. He then worked in retail. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party. From 1985 to 1989 he worked in the district administration of Jefferson County. Between 1989 and 1993 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Kentucky.

In the congressional elections of 1994, Ward was the third electoral district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Romano L. Mazzoli on January 3, 1995. Since he lost to Anne Northup of the Republican Party in the next elections in 1996, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1997.

After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives Ward worked for the Peace Corps. Between 2001 and 2005, he hosted a radio talk show in Louisville. Today he is manager of the Saint Consulting Group.
