Mike Zadick

Mike Zadick ( born July 12, 1978 in Great Falls, Montana) is an American professional wrestler. In 2006 he was vice-champion in free style at featherweight.

Career

Mike Zadick comes from a Ringer family and grew up in Great Falls. At the age of five he began in 1983 in the North Montana Wrestling Club with the rings, where his father Bob Zadick was his first coach. He attended Great Falls High School and participated in the Junior age at which he is still in both Ringer styles, Greco- Roman and free style, operated, often at the school of the State of Montana Championships in part. Four times he won the championship while that State. After his high school days he attended the Iowa State University. He belonged to the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. His coaches were in those years, Dan Gable and Jim Zalesky.

In 1994 he took part in the World Youth Championship in Frankfort / USA. In the weight category to 51 kg free style, he came up with the 4th Place. This was his first start in an international championship. Until the next time you start with such a mastery, it would take until the year 2006.

In 1996, Mike Zadick U.S. junior champion in two styles, 1997 in free style. He wrestled in those years in the lightweight ( class to 68 kg body weight). Later he trained in the featherweight ( class up to 60 kg body weight) from. In the U.S. students Championships ( NCAA Championships ), he came in 2001 in the lightweight to 2nd place, but in the years 2000 and 2002 it reached only the 7th Place.

In 2002, Mike Zadick Gator Wrestling Club and in 2004 he graduated at the University in exercise science. Since 2002 he has been an assistant coach at Iowa State University. He himself is trained there since 2004 by Terry Brands and Brands Thomas and Mike Duroc. He lives in Solon, Iowa and is also in a law firm operates.

In the years 2000 to 2005, there never succeeded Mike Zadick to qualify for international championships. So he took at the Olympia excretion ( Trials ) 2000 J. Cary Kolat behind and in the Trials in 2004 behind Eric S. Guerrero each 2nd place in the featherweight ( free style ).

In 2006, he managed to qualify for the World Cup in Guangzhou / China. He went there to free style featherweight and came up with victories over Saeed Azarbayjani, Canada, Alexander Karnizki, Belarus, Yogeshwar Dutt, India and Mawlet Batirow from Russia, the Olympic champion from 2004 until the final, where he faced Seyed Murad Mohammadi Pahnekalaei subject from Iran and thus came up with the silver medal. In this World Cup, his brother Bill became world champion in the lightweight, free style.

In 2007, Mike Zadick won at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro behind the Cuban Olympic champion from 2004 Yandro Quintana Featherweight the 2nd place. At the World Championships this year in Baku he was defeated in his first battle against the Albanians Sahit Prizreni on points. Since Prizreni not reached the final, he left and came only on 27th place.

At the Pan American Championships 2008 in Colorado Springs, Mike Zadick was beaten from Canada in the semis against former world champion Guivi Sissaouri, reached there but still the 3rd place. For the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Mike Zadick had not actually qualified. The American Wrestling Federation received for this event but a starting place (a wildcard) at featherweight and sat Mike Zadick in Beijing. He lost there but against Wasil Fedorischin from Ukraine and Bazar Bazargurujew from Kyrgyzstan and only came on the 19th Place.

In 2009, Mike Zadick was for the first time in his career American featherweight champion.

Mike Zadick intends up to the 2012 Olympics, for which he hopes to qualify, continue to struggle.
