Mikel Odriozola

Mikel Odriozola Domínguez ( born May 25, 1973 in Donostia- San Sebastián ) is a Spanish athlete, who was especially successful in the 50 km walk.

Odriozola won the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 the Spanish league title on the long walking distance. Internationally, he appeared only in 1999 at the World Championships in his home country, 20 km walking, as he was ranked 18.

His first front placement at a major championship on the long haul Odriozola was done successfully at the European Championships in 1998 when he finished fourth in a new personal best of 3:47:24 hours in Budapest. At the 2000 Olympic Games Odriozola reached the goal only as 18. At the World Championships in 2001 and 2003, he was also unable to place with rank 15 and rank 14 among the best. Only at the European Championships in 2006 he succeeded in 5th place again a front placement. In 2007 he reached 6th place at the World Championships in Osaka again a top spot.
