Mikele Barber

Mikele "Miki " Barber ( born October 4, 1980 in Livingston ) is an American sprinter.

Early in her career she appeared mainly in the 400 -meter run in appearance. At the IAAF World Junior Championships in Annecy in 1998 she won the U.S. 4 x 400 - meter relay in the bronze medal over 400 meters she finished in 54.24 s eighth.

As a student at the University of South Carolina, she participated in two Universiade. 1999 in Palma de Mallorca it secured in 51.03 s second place in the 400m. 2001 in Beijing she won in 51.93 s over the same distance and a bronze medal in the 4 x 400 -meter relay gold medal.

Later, they focused on the 100 -meter run. At the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro, she won over this distance in a personal best of 11.02 s the gold medal and the 4 x 100 meters relay silver medal.

They celebrated their biggest success at the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka. Together with Lauryn Williams, Allyson Felix and Torri Edwards she took in the 4 x 100 -meter relay gold medal for the United States.

Mikele Barber has a competition weight of 52 kg at a height of 1.57 m. She is the twin sister of Me'Lisa Barber.
