Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bonch-Bruevich
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bonch - Bruevich (Russian: Михаил Александрович Бонч - Бруевич; * 9 Februarjul / February 21 1888greg in Oryol, .. † March 7, 1940 in Leningrad) was a Soviet radio engineer.
After studying electrical engineering in St. Petersburg, he worked in Nizhny Novgorod with the manufacture of electron tubes, built a powerful radio station for the Communist International and was instrumental in the development of radar in the Soviet Union.
Bonch - Bruevich is buried in the cemetery Bogoslowskoje.
Naming
In June 1940, the Electrotechnical Institute of Communications Technology in Leningrad was named after Bonch - Bruevich. In 1993, the renamed to Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications ( SPbSUT ) was performed.
In 1988 Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bonch - Bruevich was honored on a postage stamp of USSR.
