Mikhail Kravets

Mikhail Grigoryevich Krawez (Russian Михайл Григорьевич Кравец; born November 12, 1963 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach. During his career he played for SKA Leningrad in the Russian Super League and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Career

As a player

Krawez first played six years from 1985 to 1991 in his hometown at SKA Leningrad. During this time he also played six times for the Soviet national team.

After him, the San Jose Sharks had selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1991 in the twelfth round at 243 position, the playmaker dared to season 1991/92 the move to North America. The Sharks put him in three seasons, he remained there, almost exclusively with their IHL farm team, the Kansas City Blades, a. With the team, he was able to win the Turner Cup in the first season. For the 2000/01 season, he returned to Europe to his home club in St Petersburg, where he ended his career after eight games in the season.

As a coach

Since May 2012 Krawez is an assistant coach of SKA St. Petersburg.
