Mikhail Ovsyannikov

Mikhail Fedotowitsch Ovsyannikov (. Михаил Федотович Овсянников Russian, English transcription Mikhail Fedotovich Ovsyannikov ) (* November 21, 1915, † 11 August 1987) was a Soviet philosopher.

Life

He graduated in 1939 to study at the State Pedagogical University in Moscow. A first thesis he wrote in 1943 entitled " The fate of art in capitalist milieu of Hegel and Balzac " ( " Судьба искусства в капиталистическом обществе у Гегеля и Бальзака "). In 1961 he became a Doctor of Philosophy. He was Hegel specialist and worked on issues of Marxist aesthetics. From 1968 to 1974 he led the philosophical faculty of the Moscow State University.
