Mikhail Scotti

Mikhail Ivanovich Skotti (Russian: Михаил Иванович Скотти; * 1812 in Saint Petersburg, † 1861 in Paris) was a Russian painter of Italian origin. He worked primarily with oil paints, water colors and pencils.

Skotti began his career painters at the Drawing School of Karl Briullov. Already in 1831 and 1832 Skotti has been recognized for his talent with two silver medals at the Russian Academy of Arts. Before he moved to Italy in 1838, one of his works was also excellent.

After his return five years later, visited Skotti Konstantin Opel and was finally hired in 1849 in a Moscow Academy.
