Mikhail Tseitlin

Michael Zeitlein, (Russian: Михаил Семёнович Цейтлин, born June 16, 1947 in Bobruisk, Byelorussian SSR ) is a German chess master and chess writer, who has played in the best of times for the Soviet Union. In 1997 he moved to the German Chess Federation.

Zeitlein conquered or occupied top positions in some tournaments: 1st place at the 16th Rubinstein Memorial in Polanica -Zdrój (1978 ), 3rd place in the tournament Tirnavia -A in Trnava (1979 ), 1st place in the tournament in Naleczów (1979 ), 2nd place at Makarczyk Memorial (1980 ), 1st place in the tournament in Pernik (1981 ), 3rd place in the tournament in Hradec Králové (1982 ), 1st place in the tournament Bohemians in Prague (1985 ), 1st place in the Elekes Memorial in Budapest (1990) and 3rd place at the First Saturday GM Tournament in Budapest ( November 1993).

Zeitlein carries since 1969 the title of Master of Sports of the Soviet Union, since 1977 the title of International Master in 1987 and the Grandmaster title. He is out on the FIDE list since April 2001 as inactive.

He is also a correspondence chess grandmaster since 1990. In correspondence chess, he is reported for the Russian Chess Federation distance.

In the first Soviet Chess Championship of Clubs 1988 he occupied for MOSK Moscow Oblast playing for second place. Chess club in Germany he played in the 1995/96 season for the SV Lahn Limburg in Hesse league in the 1998/99 season in the chess Bundesliga for Werder Bremen. After he has not played a tournament in Germany gewertetes more since 2001, he is reported in the 2012/13 season in the Oberliga Nord West (3rd League ) for the Bremen SG.
