Miki Ando

Miki Ando (Japanese安藤 美 姫, Miki Ando, born December 18, 1987 in Nagoya ) is a Japanese figure skater who starts in a single run. She is the 2007 World Champion and 2011.

Ando began at the age of eight years with figure skating. As the first runner ever they showed at Junior Championships in 2002 a quadruple jump ( Salchow ), as they dominated the triple axel.

In 2004 she became junior world champion and also won their first national championship in the seniors. They finished fourth in their World Cup debut in 2004 in Dortmund. The following year, she defended her national title and finished the championship in sixth place. In 2006, she disappointed at the Olympic Games in Turin, where she managed after several falls in the free skate only in 15th place in the overall standings.

Your biggest success so far celebrated Ando 2007, when she became World Champion in Tokyo. She defeated her main rival Mao Asada by less than one point. At the 2009 World Championships, she won her second World Cup medal with bronze. In her second Olympic Games Ando finished 2010 in Vancouver fifth place.

2011 Ando was the third time Japanese champion and won in Taipei with new Gesamtpunktebestleistung of 201.34 points, the gold medal at the Four Continents Championships Mao Asada before. At the World Championships, which had been postponed due to a major earthquake in Japan from Tokyo to Moscow, she won her second title.
