Mikk Pahapill

Mikk Pahapill ( born July 18, 1983 in Kingissepa, Estonian SSR, USSR) is an Estonian athlete.

Sporting career

Pahapill started at the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Kingston for the first time at international championships. With 7142 points, he finished in eleventh place in the decathlon. In 2005 he won at the European Cup meeting in Bydgoszcz and surpassed 8149 points for the first time the 8000 point mark. This power he confirmed with 8003 points and twelfth place at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, although he went to the starting line, the race but had to quit due to an injury prematurely. With a win and 8117 points at the meeting in Rakvere, he qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he was able to increase his personal record 8178 points, finishing in eleventh place. Half a year later Pahapill could set a new personal best in all seven disciplines of the Seven campaign at the European Indoor Championships 2009 in Turin and won clearly against Oleksiy Kasyanov and Roman Šebrle. With 6362 points, he not only improved his personal best by 400 points, but missed the record of Estonian Erki Nool of 1999 only twelve points. At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin Pahapill ended after three invalid attempts in the long jump the decathlon competition.
