Mikko Ruutu

Mikko Ruutu ( born September 10, 1978 in Vantaa ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player. He is the younger brother of Jarkko and the older brother of Tuomo Ruutu.

Career

Mikko Ruutu began his career in the 1998/99 season the club HIFK Helsinki in the Finnish SM- liiga.

NHL Entry Draft 1999 Ruutu was selected in the seventh round as 201 of the Ottawa Senators, but the season was in 1999/2000 at Clarkson University in the NCAA league its only in North America.

In the years 2000 to 2003 he played for the Finnish club Jokerit Helsinki, had his career but then due to a spinal fracture end.

He is currently responsible for the Ottawa Senators as a scout for Finland.
