Miklós Haraszti
Miklós Haraszti ( born January 2, 1945 in Jerusalem) is a Hungarian writer, dissident, journalist and politician.
Life
Miklós Haraszti studied philosophy and literature at the University of Budapest, and the 1976 co-founder of the Hungarian opposition movement. 1981-1989 he worked as an editor of the Hungarian underground magazine Beszélő, he was co-author of various explanations of Eastern European dissidents on human rights violations. In 1990, he represented the SZDSZ at the "round table " of the Hungarian Revolution and was a member of the first legislature of the free Hungarian Parliament.
Miklós Haraszti was from March 2004 to March 2010 for ( the maximum allowed ) two-term OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
He is currently Adjunct Professor at the School of International & Public Affairs at Columbia Law School in New York.
