Mikola Statkevich

Mikalaj Statkewitsch (White Russian Мікалай Статкевіч, Russian Николай Статкевич / Nikolai Statkewitsch ); Born August 12, 1956 in Ljadna, Rajon Sluzk, Minsk Woblasz; is a social democratic politicians in Belarus. He is a member of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party " Narodnaya Hramada " ( BSDP NH).

Life

Statkewitsch studied engineering at the Military Academy in Minsk and then a doctorate in the field of RFID / air defense. A few weeks before his habilitation, he was discharged from the army because he had spoken out against the fact that Belarus takes part in Russian military actions.

1995 Statkewitsch Chairman of BSDP (NH) and ran as a candidate in the 2010 presidential election. On Election Day, 19 December, he was arrested during a demonstration as well as other oppositionists.
