Mikołaj Zebrzydowski

Mikołaj Zebrzydowski (* 1553 in Krakow, † June 17, 1620 in Kalwaria ) was a Polish nobleman.

From 1560 to 1569 he attended the Lyceum Hosianum in Brown Mountain. From 1553 to 1620 he was cycling, and 1589 voivode of Lublin, 1596-1600 Lord Chamberlain of the King and to 1601 Voivode of Krakow. He participated in the war of Stephen Báthory and his chancellor Zamoyski January against Moscow. He was said to have good contacts with the Vatican. Initially he supported King Sigismund III. Wasa (during which interregnum ). Later he became more and more dissatisfied with its efforts to strengthen and weaken the efforts of the Polish nobility ( szlachta ) centralized royal power. In 1606 he organized the so-called Zebrzydowski rebellion. 1607 was subject to the king's troops at the Battle of Guzów. Henceforth, he supported the development of the place Kalwaria. He spent there in the Franciscan monastery, the end of life.
