MIL-DTL-5541

MIL-C- 5541 discloses a chromatierendes method in which a protective film is applied to the aluminum surfaces to protect them from corrosion, and to facilitate paint application.

The color of these chromate may be too dazzling brown from colorless to golden up. The surface must be free of dents before treatment, dents, scratches or the like.

In this surface finishing dimensional deviations will not occur, such as by thick lacquer layers.

  • Class 1A serves as a corrosion-resistant protection as well as to facilitate the color image.
