Milan Jelić
Milan Jelic ( born March 26, 1956 in Koprivna at Modriča, Yugoslavia, now Bosnia - Herzegovina, † September 30, 2007 in Doboj, Bosnia - Herzegovina) was president of the Republika Srpska entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Life
After studying economics at the University of Novi Sad and Banja Luka, where he graduated with a PhD, Milan Jelic was a manager of different enterprises Modriča (most recently from November 1993 Director of the oil refinery ).
As a member of Srpska Demokratska Stranka he was elected to the Parliament of the Republika Srpska. In 1998 he left the party and became a member of Savez Nezavisnih Socijaldemokrata.
Since 28 February 2006, he was Minister of Economic Affairs of Republika Srpska until he was President of Republika Srpska on 9 November 2006. He also served on the Executive Committee of the BiH Football Association. He died at the age of 51 of a heart attack. Until the election of a successor President of the Parliament of Republika Srpska took over temporarily the office Jelićs.
Milan Jelic was the father of footballer Petar Jelic.
