Milan Å rejber

Milan Šrejber ( born December 30, 1963 in Prague ) is a former Czechoslovak tennis player.

Life

Šrejber studied electrical engineering at the University of Prague, but decided at the age of 19 years for a career as a professional tennis player. In 1985 he won in New Ulm his first Challenger tournament the following year he was the qualifier in the final of the ATP tournament in Toronto, but it lost to Joakim Nyström. In 1988 he won at the side of Petr Korda his first doubles tournament on the ATP World Tour, as well as his only individual title at the tournament in Rye Brook. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached position 23 in the singles and in 1989 with position 37 in a double 1986.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open in 1986. 's Doubles competition he was in 1990 in the quarterfinals of the French Open. In addition, he was in 1987 in the second round of the Australian Open.

Šrejber played between 1986 and 1991 14 single and five double batches for the Czechoslovak Davis Cup team. His greatest success with the team was reaching the semi-finals of the World Group in 1986, where he won both his singles match against Bruno Orešar and Slobodan Živojinović in the quarter- final against Yugoslavia. In the 1-4 semi-final defeat against Sweden, he lost both his singles. At the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul in 1988, he joined for Czechoslovakia at the singles and doubles. While he failed in the first round at the Italian Paolo Canè in singles, he won in a double on the side of Miloslav Mečíř the bronze medal.
