The Milano Lambrate railway station (Italian: Stazione di Milano Lambrate ) is one of the main stations in the northern Italian city of Milan. It is operated by the Company CentoStazioni, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato.

The station is located at the 1931 Milan finished belt path which is operated by RFI.

Location

The station is located in the north - east of the city, between the districts of Lambrate and Città Studi. The tracks are about 10 feet above street level.

In the vicinity of the station is the underground Lambrate Metro Station, which is served by trains on the M2 line of the Metropolitana di Milano.

The station is also served by several bus, trolleybus and tram lines.

History

The first Lambrate Station was opened in 1873 on the railway line Milano - Venezia and served as the eastern gate of the railway junction Milan. It was located near the village of Ortica ( now part of Milan ) in the area of ​​the then independent municipality Lambrate.

The construction of the new central train station also has a semicircular belt railway was built. This belt path on which the new station Lambrate is, 1914, for freight transport in operation.

Because of the First World War, the construction work was stopped, so that the passenger traffic in 1931 was able to run across the belt path. At the same time the new station Milano Lambrate was opened and the old decommissioned.

In the 1990s a new, spacious reception building was built by the architect Ignazio Gardella.   • Track 10: long-distance transport from Rogoredo after Centrale ( without stopping )
  • Track 11: Regional Express from Centrale to Bologna, Mantua and Genoa ( with stop)
  • Track 12: Regional Express from Bologna, Mantua and Genoa to Centrale ( with stop)
