Milda Lauberte

Milda Lauberte ( born October 7, 1918 in Vildoga, † October 19, 2009 in Riga) was a Latvian chess player.

Lauberte played 1937-1963 a total of 18 times to the Latvian Chess Championship for women, while she took in twelve tournaments the title and was four times Second, once Sixth and Tenth once.

In 1937 she played in Stockholm around the world chess championship of women, although she scored the third to fourth place in cooperation with Deutsche Sonja Graf under 26 participants. At the Chess World Championship for Women in 1939 in Buenos Aires, she was sixth at 20 participants.

Family

Milda Lauberte was married from 1940 to 1944 with the Latvian chess player Lūcijs Endzelīns, and thus daughter of the linguist Jānis Endzelīns. The two had a daughter named Mara.
