Mileiha (Arabic مليحة, Milaiḥa DMG ) is a village in the UAE in the Emirate Sharjah, near which there is more extensive archaeological sites from different time periods.

Neolithic

From the Neolithic period was at Jebel Faya - a mountain that lies 0.5 km southwest of Mileiha - discovered several different sites. These sites are excavated from the Sharjah Archaeological Museum and a German excavation team of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

Umm an-Nar

From the Umm an-Nar period are found south-west of Mileiha several graves. One of the round, stone-built " grave houses" was reconstructed from the Sharjah Archaeological Museum on its find site.

Pre- Islamic

Excavations were in Mileiha first in 1973 by an Iraqi and held by a French excavation team since 1985. For some years here digs a local team.

The ruins spread over an area of ​​about four square kilometers and is dated from the third century BC to the third century AD. There were living quarters with craft shops, a fort and burial sites with tower-like tombs. There were molds for coins that show that there have been marked coins. There is evidence of imported Greek pottery, but in addition also import many pieces from South Arabia.
