Mileševa monastery

Mileševa is a Serbian Orthodox monastery in the valley of the river in the southwest Mileševa Serbian mountainous country approximately 5 km east of Prijepolje. The monastery was built by the Serbian king Stefan Vladislav in the first half of the 13th century. In the church of the monastery today is his tomb. 1377 could be Kotromanić Tvrtko crowned King of Serbia and of the shore. 1446 Stefan Vukšić Kosača has appointed there to the Duke of Sveti Sava, after today's Herzegovina got its name.

The monastery is also one of the most important frescoes of Serbia: The "White Angel" ( Beli ANDJEO ), as well as a relic left hand of Saint Sava.
