Military Bishopric of Chile

The Chilean Military Ordinariate is a Military Ordinariate in Chile and in charge of the Chilean armed forces.

History

The Military Ordinariate in the Republic of Chile cared for members of the Chilean armed forces of Catholic religious affiliation pastoral. It was built by Pope Pius X on May 3, 1910. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and the Republic of Chile is the seat of the Chilean Military Ordinariate in Santiago de Chile. From the announcement of the papal bull of May 8, 1910 Rafael Salas Edwards for the first military bishop of Chile ( Military ) was inaugurated on 27 May 1915.
