Military Bishopric of Paraguay

The Military Ordinariate of Paraguay is the Military Ordinariate in Paraguay and is responsible for the Armed Forces of Paraguay.

History

The Military Ordinariate of Paraguay cared for members of the Paraguayan armed forces of Catholic religious affiliation pastoral. It was Pope John XXIII. created as a military vicariate on 20 December 1961. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and the Republic of Paraguay is the seat of the Military Ordinariate of Paraguay in Asuncion. It was elevated to a diocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution spirituality Soldiers curae on July 21, 1986.
