Military commissariat

The Kreiswehrersatzamt ( SWT ) had a lower federal agency of the Territorial Defence management at the local level (local authority ) with the main task to ensure the replacement personnel for the Bundeswehr.

With the suspension of conscription and the reorientation of the Bundeswehr, the induction offices were dissolved with effect from 30 November 2012. Your responsibilities took over the newly created Career Center of the Bundeswehr.

The comparable authority in the GDR was referred to as army headquarters.

Term

The name Kreiswehrersatzamt consists of four parts: circuit as a classification of the republic by the Bundeswehr in circles. This does not correspond to the counties. Weir provides the link to the German army, so the defense ( security ) in Germany. Compensation referred to German military usage, the complement of staffing needs of the armed forces. Office is the simple name of a public administration.

Induction offices in Germany

There were 52 last induction offices and seven screening centers in Germany.

Tasks

The induction offices had the following main tasks:

• Conduct a psychological examination to determine the suitability of the fit were numbered,
• Inviting applicants for the volunteer military service for duty and reservists to services,
• Scheduling of candidates for the volunteer military service,
• Screening of conscripts and voluntary candidates / applicants to determine the military capability and usefulness.

The induction offices were not responsible for the recruitment of temporary soldiers. This was done by the Centers for recruitment ( raceways of the teams, NCOs and sergeants ) and the Offizierbewerberprüfzentrale ( career officers ). The pattern of each candidate was, however, for this by the responsible Kreiswehrersatzamt.

Who would want to refuse military service ( conscientious objector ), had to ask the competent Kreiswehrersatzamt the application for recognition as a conscientious objector. The duties of the district recruiting offices under the conscientious objection, for example, the audit committees, changed several times in the course of time.
