Military Merit Decoration

The Military Merit is a state decoration of the Republic of Austria.

It was founded on 13 November 1989 as a special award for the Armed Forces. The badge is a plug cross in gilded silver, on the left breast ( breast star ) is worn. In the middle of the Austrian eagle is shown on a golden medallion. The cross has no inscription. Between the two arms are bare golden crossed swords. On the back, the word "merit" on a white background.
