Military rations

Troops boarding is a form of food, prepared at the military personnel of hot and cold food available after fixed, locally and culturally different basic standards. It is divided into several meals and taken mainly jointly during the garrison service. During use, the food is cooked either by units of the rear indemnity under field- like conditions (eg in field kitchens ) or put the soldiers in the form of various one-man or group rations available.

Bundeswehr

The food allowance for Armed Forces members is € 7.46 for three complete meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the morning, the supply is via a buffet breakfast, lunch can basically choose between at least two menus. Furthermore, at noon there is a salad bar available. Drinks include meals.

In addition, there is the submarine flotilla a special stocking plan that is based on the extraordinary burden on the soldiers on board.

National People's Army

In the National People's Army of the GDR two basic standards existed ( see Table ), which should satisfy the daily needs of the army personnel. The higher basic norm stood soldiers with higher physical demands.

U.S. forces

Currently, the joint military meals are taken in the U.S. armed forces by the Unitized Group Ration A ( UGR -A), a modular system for the supply of 50 persons with a meal. In the absence of field kitchens UGR -A can be heated by means contained. In the systems also materials for presentation and output are included. The rations are annually according to different requirements (kcal requirements for different application types, vegetarian, kosher or halal preparations) recalculated.
