Miljenko Matijevic

Michael " Mili " Matijevic ( born November 29, 1964 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian -born American rock singer. He became known through the hair metal band Steelheart.

Biography

Born in Croatia in 1964 Matijevic emigrated with his parents to the United States. This first subjected to Scarsdale, New York. A year later we went to Greenwich (Connecticut), where Matijevic began to make music. The father stopped him and his brother John, to play country songs. The age of eleven Matijevic Led Zeppelin discovered for himself, but his father forbade the playing of rock music.

As Matijevic met in the early 1980s Chris Risola, James Ward and Jack Wilkinson, the quartet decided to form a band and called Red Alert. We landed a record deal, but had to change the name for copyright reasons, and dipped himself into Steelheart.

1990 landed the power ballad I'll Never Let You Go from the self-titled debut album on heavy rotation on MTV. The single reached number 14 on the charts, the album made ​​it to number 40 and went platinum. The follow-up album Tangled In Reins appeared in 1992.

After you've toured with Great White by the United States, there was an additional gig as the opening act for Slaughter. 2001 Matijevic was heard on the soundtrack to the movie Rockstar, where he lends lead actor Mark Wahlberg the singing voice. He also recorded eight songs in the film band Steel Dragon.
