Milker's nodule

Milker's nodule refers to a benign viral disease that occurs throughout the world and is caused by the Parapoxvirus bovis 2. It is caused by infection in diseased udder pox cattle.

The infection is manifested by the formation of numerous spots or redness on hands and forearms. Within a few days to develop the spots to brownish- red pea-sized nodules, called papules. In the middle of such a change is often exuding a depression. The skin around the hearth is bright red and unattractive. Milker's nodule heal by itself after 6 to 8 weeks without scarring. The healing process may be assisted by placing the node in desiccation.
