Millennium Chemicals

The Millennium Chemicals Inc., a subsidiary of Lyondell Chemical Company, as the world's second largest producer of titanium dioxide is an American chemical company.

History

Millennium Chemicals is caused by the elimination of a division of Hanson plc on 1 October 1996 as an independent company.

In 2004, Millennium Chemicals and Lyondell merged ( approval by the EU on 10 June 2004, final adoption on November 30, 2004) and are therefore at that time the third-largest American chemical company become.

In 2007, the titanium dioxide business to the privately borne, Saudi Arabian National Titanium Dioxide Company Ltd.. ( Cristal) sells for approximately $ 1.2 billion.
