The Miller 500 is a former car race in the NASCAR Busch Series at the Martinsville Speedway, which was fought from 1982 to 1994. It was traditionally the spring races on the track, which was held in late March or early April. Only in the 1993 season it was held in early May.

History

The first race was held on 28 March 1982 Dogwood 500 over a distance of 250 laps, which corresponded to a total distance of around 211 km. First winner was Sam Ard, who at Miller Time 250 also won in the following season. The race distance of 250 laps remained as well as in the season in 1984, when Jack Ingram won the race for themselves. In the 1985 season, the race distance was shortened to 200 laps or about 169 km. Brett Bodine won the renamed Miller 200 races. Although the distance from the 1986 season remained the same, the race was renamed in Miller 500. In 1986 and 1987, Morgan Shepherd and Brad Teague contributed in the winners list before 1988 Jimmy Hensley won the Miller Classic. In subsequent seasons, the winners Tommy Ellis, Tommy Houston and Jimmy Hensley were called. In 1992 the name was again changed back to Miller 500 and Kenny Wallace won the race. In the last two seasons in which it was fought, the race distance was 300 laps or about 254 km. Ward Burton won in 1993 and 1994 Terry Labonte was the last winner of the race.
