Miloslav Ransdorf

Miloslav Ransdorf (* February 15, 1953 in Rakovníka ) is a Czech communist politician, philosopher and member of the European Parliament.

Life

In 1977 he graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, in which he held until 1984 lectures on ancient and medieval philosophy. In 1978 he was awarded for work Politické teorie Rané renesance a reformace the degree of PhDr .. It was followed by 1990 research at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, in the fields of philosophy, history and theory of social development as well as the prognostic Institute at the drafting of economic and social reforms.

1990-1992 he was elected deputies of the Federal Assembly. After the assembly was dissolved, he works as head of the theoretical - analytical Committee of the Communist Party. From 1996 to 2004 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, 2002-2004 Member of the European Commission for Integration and Deputy Chairman of the GUE / NGL Group.

Ransdorf is Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, a member of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees EU -Kazakhstan, EU -Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia and the Delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation ( SAARC ) and substitute member of the Committee on Development.

Creation

Ransdorf published a number of books and translations. About Czech history but also the development of society in the 20th century. His scientific work can be thereby classified into two categories: history of philosophy and ideology. In his work Kapitoly z geneze Hussite ideology he analyzed on the basis of manuscripts and source books Philosophical and theological thought of the Reformers John Wycliffe, Jan Hus, Jakoubek ze Stříbra and Jan Želivský.

He translated books from the German, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch language.
