Mils is a municipality with 4145 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land, Tyrol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Hall in Tirol.

Geography

Location

Mils is located in the Inn Valley at an alluvial fan at the foot of the Karwendel Mountains twelve kilometers east of the provincial capital of Innsbruck in Hall in Tirol. The municipality is bounded on the west by Weissbach and in the south from the Inn.

History

Mils was first mentioned in 930, finds, burials and field names from the pre-Roman and Roman times, however, point out that the place is far older.

The village was once a well- visited place of pilgrimage, but fell after the fire, the parish church in 1791 into oblivion.

In the last 40 years Mils has grown through its sunny position enormously as residential and residential. The northern district Milsner Heath is largely connected to the town center, in the south there is a business park.

In the south of the township, in 1998, a business park at the Tiroler Straße B171, which has created 400 jobs in various industries. The municipality is otherwise used for agriculture. The community has more than commuter commuters.
