Milton DeLugg

Milton DeLugg, sporadically De Lugg or DeLugg ( born December 2, 1918 in Los Angeles, California) is an American composer, arranger and conductor.

Biography

Milton DeLugg studied music at UCLA, where he was instructed by Tibor Serly. Then he found work as a musician in radio. During the Second World War he served in the radio of the United States Army Air Force. After his release he was again working in radio and wrote occasionally for theatrical productions. From the early 1950s he worked regularly in the music composition of television and film productions. With the new compositions for the German fairy tales Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White DeLugg debuted mid-1950s as a film composer.

For over four decades DeLugg worked as musical director at NBC, where he was responsible for shows such as Broadway Open House, The Tonight Show and The Gong Show, above all. He wrote several jingles and composed several theme songs. To date, he is still active as a composer and was responsible for several years for the Macy 's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
