Milton Ottey

Milton Ottey ( Bruce Milton " Milt " Ottey, born December 29, 1959 in May Pen ) is a retired Canadian high jumper of Jamaican origin.

In 1979 he won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in San Juan and gold at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

At the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he finished ninth and at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles sixth. In 1986 he was able to defend the title at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, and in 1987 he finished seventh at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis.

At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, he was eliminated in the qualifying. In 1990, he completed his international career from a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland.

Eight times he was Canadian champion (1979, 1981-1984, 1986-1988 ). In 1982, he was U.S. champion and starting for the University of Texas at El Paso NCAA champion, 1985 English Champion.
