Milton R. Krasner

Milton R. Krasner ( born February 17, 1904 in New York City; † July 16, 1988 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California ) was an American cinematographer and participated in more than 150 productions.

Life and work

His career in film began as a second cameraman for various productions at the beginning of the 1930s. His first film on which he worked as a cinematographer was Strictly Personal from the year 1933. His first films were directed by Ralph Murphy.

A total of six times he was nominated for an Oscar, for the first time in 1943 for the film Arabian Nights. His only trophy he won in 1954 for his work on the film Three Coins in the Fountain.

His last film as a cinematographer was Beneath the Planet of the Apes from the year 1970. Afterwards he worked only a few times for television, 1976, he participated in an episode of the television series Columbo with and then went into retirement.
