The Minangkabauische language ( autonym: Baso Minang [ Kabau ]; Indonesian Bahasa Minangkabau ) is an Austronesian language of the people of Minangkabau in West Sumatra, the western part of Riau, South Aceh, the northern part of Bengkulu and Jambi, as well as in several cities throughout Indonesia by emigrated Minangkabau merchants and innkeepers speak.

The minangkabauische language is a lingua franca along the western coastal region of the province of North Sumatra, and is even used in parts of Aceh, where the language Aneuk Jamee is called. Minangkabauisch is also spoken in a part of Malaysia, namely Negeri Sembilan in the Sultanate.

Lately the Minangkabauische is increasingly being displaced by the Indonesian official and sole language Indonesian as more and more speakers proceed to take over Indonesian as their mother tongue. The same applies to Minangkabauisch in Malaysia, where it is displaced by Malay and English.
